G'day people!!

Here we are in sunny Melbourne! Arrived yesterday after three flights and lots of waiting around so pretty tired! Had slight hitch with the accommodation when we got here and finally put our feet up for a well earned cuppa at the third place we tried!!

To get oriented (and stop ourselves from sleeping) we hopped onto a free city tour tram to get an idea of what Melbourne had to offer while we are here and to generally get a feel for what's hot and what's not. Melbourne is a great place, much like London, but seemingly cleaner and with less grumpy people! The whole city and surrounding area is run on trams which are a really easy way of getting around. We saw lots from the tram and got back to the guesthouse and decided on a plan for the next few days. We are here until Thursday when we travel to Sydney (over three days) and it looks like our days will be pretty jam packed with lots of exciting stuff!!

Spent today in a place just outside of Melbourne called St Kildas which is on the beach and has a craft market every Sunday right along the Esplanade. The market was great, full of local artists selling their wares. We walked along the beach and pier and tried to penguin spot on the breakwater but apparently they only come out at night so we will head down there one evening I expect. Saw the Luna Park which is an old fashioned amusement park and stocked up on supplies for the room.

Both feeling rough this evening like we are coming down with the lergy but fingers crossed we are just tired!! Watch this space!! Off to the Pixar Exhibition which is currently in the city tomorrow, and then probably the botanic gardens!!
