I am currently residing in Mossel Bay on the Southern coast of South Africa. Sadly I decided to leave Cape Town on Sunday morning to so see the rest of the Garden Route... I will really miss that place and all the people I have met...
Not a great deal to add about Cape Town since I last blogged. On Friday I booked onto a Robben Island tour and again it got cancelled due to rough seas. It's just not meant to be. Friday night ended in an almighty p*ss up in the hostel bar to see off Bubs and Silver. The festivities came to end around 4.15am with several pairs of sore hands having rocked the tune of 'We will rock you" maybe a dozen times on the bar!! Good times.
Saturday I climbed up The Lions Head (a peak over looking Cape Town) with a couple of people to watch the sunset. It was pretty cool and I got some awesome picture which at some point I'll try and get on here...
I spent Sunday in Hermanus which is famous for its whale watching from the shore. Although the weather was pretty crap I did manage to see some whales breaching just offshore. All in all though it wasn't a great day - I missed the friends I had met in Cape Town and also my family back home.
Today I have moved onto Mossel Bay a few hundred kilometres down the coast... first impressions... well it's not Cape Town... and it's still bloody raining!!! They have a famous "Seal Island" which you can do tours to, I might try and do that tomorrow morning (they are cancelled today due to the weather!) and then I'll move on to Knysna...
Miss you all a lot.
John (DJ was left behind in Cape Town!)
