Right, well I've made it to Siem Reap, Cambodia... managed to get here in just over 8 hours and, I think, I didn't get scammed along the way! I checked out of the hostel at a horrific 4.50am and caught a taxi from right outside the hostel. We were headed to Morchit bus station. I'd read on the internet that the journey should cost about 90-100 bhat... well it ended up costing 160 bhat. Not sure what happened there, he had the meter running and didn't seem to be ...

Just a quick update on my blog from yesterday... I was scammed even more than I thought. My "nice Thai man"... you remember, the soldier... was blatantly in on the plot to get me in that Tuk Tuk. I know this because on my return I was speaking to an English girl staying in my dorm who was spun almost exactly the same story (that very day) before being persuaded to get on a Tuk Tuk... only to go on pretty much the same magical mystery tour that I did... ...

Interesting couple of days in Bangkok... my flight landed about 7pm Monday. I knew had to catch the bus AE2 to one stop before Khao San Rd and my hostel would be pretty much bang there... well, after purchasing my ticket I was informed that today, and today only, the bus would be stopping at Khao San Rd only - woop! So I should have to march around Bangkok (giant bag in tow...) in the dark searching for my hostel... anyway, to cut a long story short, I found it.....

Whoops... knew I forgot something, I have a blog. Not really sure how this blog is going to work out. Internet access is infrequent and often a painful experience when it is available... I think blogging could be rare... Currently residing in Zanzibar in Tanzania. Beautiful white sandy beaches and turquoise water at every turn, can't complain... the sun tan is coming along nicely too. So far I have been to Kenya, Uganda, Kenya again and then Tanzania. Done som...

Well I'm now at home and what a joy it is to be back in the very beautiful Dagenham. I can't think why I ever left this place... I thought I should cover off my last couple of days on tour just so the story is complete. As planned I managed to get an early night on Monday in preparation in preparation for the inevitable carnage that would be my 'last night on tour' on Tuesday. Although I got an early night I did not by any means get a good night sleep as a b***...
