Today we go forth and follow a path set by that famous African explorer Dr Livingston, who discovered the Victoria falls in 1855 ,100yrs before I was born.
The trek is in total 5 kilometre ,took about 2hrs to complete. The view was nothing less than spectacular . There are five section,to that are named The Main and the Rainbow. Our view saw only 10 % of the possible water cascading over the falls, but the power and the beauty is undeniable , seeing is the only way that one enjoy this wonder of the world
We needed to back our lodge to be picked upbeat the helicopter firm for our 15 minute flight over the Falls. Back in time on the bus to the copter pad ,straight on, up up and away.
Up here , the view adds another perspective to the Falls, the enormous area that is taken up by this cascading water and the power as you see the falls crash into the bottom of the gorge is totally amazing.
15minutes passes in the blink of an eye and we back at the heli pad and on our way back to the lodge.
We arrive right on lunch and because of the heat we decide to have a salad ,we chose a potato and crocodile salad. The crocodile had fish flavour ,but very strong and it melted in your mouth ,the dressing on the potato leaf salad was seeded mustard and mayo, absolutely delicious .
Our next trek was to begin at 4 in the afternoon ,a boat cruise up and down a small section of the Zambezi river. There are no guarantee the hippo, crocodile, or elephant will be seen but fortunately for us we saw the 1st and last of those. The cruise was very peaceful and the the crew were helpful in all aspect of our trip, thing like wine and beer were given freely to all that wanted such things, food was supplied and that's all we will say about that.
Our time at the ILala lodge now end and a new safari begin ,tomorrow we are back in Johannesburg for 1night. Then it is off Kenya where the Masai warriors live . The blog may a few days behind as wi-fi is unavailable in this zone .
Again this bye for now stay well to all ,
Luv Shirley& John.
