Our second sea day was a lot smoother than the first. For one thing we gained an hour rather than what happened before when, you know, we lost an hour. Breakfast was not rushed and we made it to bingo with plenty of time to spare. Kim got talked into helping out with the drawing for a free cruise, but failed to pick one of our numbers. There was a winner on the very first ticket drawn so it was kind of anticlimactic. After not winning anything at bingo we headed back to the room so I could change out of my bingo shirt.
Next on our list was the art auction but we had time to go eat first. This was the first time we experienced lunch on the boat as we are usually on shore and the first sea day we just missed it completely. I wanted to stab someone in the eye with my fork. Buffets can be ridiculously annoying. People are rude and pushy. I was getting myself some chicken curry when this Asian lady came up and stood inches away from me and put her arm out like she was actually going to take the ladle from me. I wanted to take all the curry just to spite her for being impatient. People were cutting in lines and the whole experience just made me very anxious. I'm glad we don't have to do that ever again.
Since we were ahead of schedule today we got to the art auction early and Kim killed some time by competing in a slot machine tournament. We were really only at the auction to see if we'd win the $500 art credit, or the guess how much the Picasso prize. I came close to guessing the Picasso's worth, I was off by $6,000. Which sounds like a lot but when it's worth $63,000 it's not too shabby.
Anyway we didn't win anything at the art auction but it is somewhat interesting looking at all that art and learning a few tidbits about the art world.
Kim wasn't feeling too hot so we went bak to the room. I watched some tv while she napped. We got dressed up for dinner but decided we'd go get our pictures taken first because we were looking HOT! We hit up three photo stations and then went to Shabu Shabu, the Mongolian hot-pot restaurant. It was fun. Basically you get a pot full of hot broth and you dump a whole ton of crap into it. It's delicious!!
After dinner we watched some more tv. There's a channel you can watch that is basically past events they've done on the boat. Probably to entice you to get out of your room and join in the fun. It's a lot more fun to sit in bed and make fun of people though! They had the footage from the white hot party on the tube and it just looked awkward. There were professional dancers there that looked like they were competing on Star Search and then when everybody else got on the dance for they were intermingled dancing like they were on Soul Train, it was pretty hilarious. All the staff had angel wings on and they'd get close to the camera and scream and dance, it looked like they were trying to rhythmnation the demons out of you.
We played some backgammon and eventually went to bed a little early. Our last shore excision is tomorrow in Split!! This whole journey is getting close to being over. It'll be nice to be home, though I hope we didn't miss all the nice weather...
