Our last day aboard the boat!! We got up early and splurged a little and got "iced mochas". They weren't normal iced drinks, more like chilled frothy coco milks which may or may not have had coffee in it, couldn't tell by the taste. We then went to breakfast and for once had a little bit more of a healthy start with some oatmeal.
After breakfast we went and picked out the pictures we wanted from the photo gallery and got our tickets for going aboard to Split. For whatever reason there was a big delay getting people off the boat. They were supposed to start at 11 but the first group wasn't called until around 11:30. We were in group seven and didn't make it off the boat until 12:30ish. A little disappointing as we lost at least an hour of our time on shore.
Kim still wasn't feeling very well and I have to give her props for being such a trooper and sticking it out all day in the heat (twss). I offered several times to take her back to the boat but she wasn't having it. However our first stop was a pharmacy and we got what we think is cold medicine. Our second stop was to find a cup for Kim to drop her plop-plop-fizz-fizz-oh-whatever-the-heck-these-is tablets in. We found a place that had the perfect little plastic cups, and just happened to have some delicious beer for me!!
Split is a beautiful city. I wish that we would have had a little more time to really get to know it better. I think we'll definitely come back to Croatia. I'd love to see more of the whole country. I'm not a huge fan of places that are geared toward tourism. The scenery is usually always amazing, but all the shops are the same, with the same cheap crap. I'd rather get off the beaten path and see what the country really has to offer. Anyway we played the role of bad tourists today and didn't really buy anything. We didn't take any money out we just used the leftover kuna we had from Dubrovnik, like a total of $40 or so. It amounted to postcards, lunch, water, one beer, cold medication, and gelato. What we did get was a crapton of pictures, maybe some of the best yet! We went into this crypt and I think I got the best picture of the trip. It's a panoramic of the whole thing. It's totally kick ass!!!
We spent the rest of our kuna on some gelato and got back on the boat. The rest of the afternoon was spent getting our bags packed and clearing up some loose ends, like spending the rest of our cash at the casino. We went for one last dinner and I was talked into getting the seafood special by the restaurant manager who told me he saw a lot of people enjoying it. It was horrid. It was like watered down tomato past with thawed seafood in it. Disgusting. Several people sitting around us felt the dame way and the manager acted shocked that nobody liked it. After that dreary finish to the night we retired to our room for the final time. We set our bags out to be picked up and went to bed kind of happy that it was our last night on the ship. All the other people on board have really started to annoy us. I think I have a seven day max on these things.
