After the Ankor beer, Vodka and late night from the night before, needles to say the early start wasn't all that appreciated but I carried on regardless! We found the sweetest Tuk-tuk guy who drove round in circles for us. First stop was the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek - an eerie place that was a mass grave for hundreds who were executed by the Khmer Rouge. An eight story tower filled with skulld was the only explaination needed for this terrible place. This was followed by a trip o the Russian Market before stopping at S-21, a former school come prison where individauls were kept and tourtured before being taken to the killing fields. The place had been partly left how it had been at the time with torture chambers and classrooms divided into cells. Even bloodstains on the floors. It was amazing to think how reently all of this had happened, and to think that all the 'middle-aged' people in the day-to-day town had somehow been affect by this horrible experience. A somber day was uplifted by a few beers in the evening and a pub quiz (where we came 2nd!) with some of the guys from our Mekong Tour. Sadly not as early night as needed!
