Hello to you all! We are now in Santa Monica, LA but will update you on that a little later as we have Grand Canyon and Las Vegas to tell you all about. More photos will follow in a couple of days.
Well after our day of hanging off the side of the cliff we decided to do some more 'on the edge' activities including a 6 mile hike down the Grand Canyon and a helicopter ride over it and through it. The views as we hiked were spectacular! It was a dusty, narrow and slippery path on the way down but the 3 mile walk down seemed quite easy. We sat and had lunch at the 3 mile mark and did contemplate going all the way down but we knew what was in store for the way up. Infact, it was much worse than we thought!! Hardest thing we have done so far...very hot, lots of water needed and many stops on the way up. At least we've done it now. Joanne says 'never again!' Our last morning at the Grand Canyon ended with the helicopter ride which we recommend everyone to do! It was a little scary, especially as we sat at the front but it is a smooth ride. Not at all what you expect!
We drove from the helicopter pad straight to Las Vegas, stopping at the Hoover Dam on the way. The temperature had changed dramatically and as soon as we got out of the car we were sweating and dehydrated! Lovely! We arrived at The Bellagio later that afternoon and after valet parking we checked in! Hotel was outstanding, very posh and swarve with our own robes in the room. hehe. Definite luxury! Most nights we had lovely meals, gambled a little, explored the other hotels and watched the dancing fountains outside our hotel. We have lots of video footage of this as the fountains dance to different music, all in time and they go very high! Very exciting to see. During most of the days we relaxed by the pool to get some sunning in!
We are now in Los Angeles and have been very welcomed by Joe's Nan's cousin, Selma and Steven. Lots of things have been recommended and planned for our time here so will update you on all of this after our stay here! Hope everyone is well, love to you all. Miss you...Joe and Jo xxxx
