Hello to you all for the last time! We are just about to leave for San Francisco but before we do we want to update you on our time here at Yosemite.
It was just over two hours drive to Yosemite from our hotel in Sonora but the ride was very pretty through the mountains with a river running alongside us for some of the way. We stopped at many view points as we got closer to Yosemite Park as the views were stunning.
When we were arrived in the park our first stop was at Bridalveil fall. You could see a waterfall in the distance and the only way to get up close to it for pictures was to climb up many huge rocks which we did! It was quite fun actually, a bit of rock climbing and it was worth it when we reached the waterfall! Very pretty but the water was freezing! We couldn't of gone swimming in it unfortunately.
The park wasn't the easiest to navigate around and we thought we could drive to most places we wanted to see but then after going to the Visitors information desk we realised you need to park and get a shuttle bus to these places! So on the bus we went.
We decided to do yet another hike up the Mist Trail which took you to another waterfall called Nevada Falls. This was a very steep climb up the mountain and memories of the Grand Canyon came flooding back! Lots of people were stopping on the way to climb rocks and swim in the little pools from the waterfall. Once we had taken many pictures, this time of a bigger waterfall, we too found ourselves a spot amongst the rocks where the waterfall was running down.
We wish we'd had more time at Yosemite as unfortunately a day was not long enough to see everything. We want to come back and perhaps next time stay and camp in the grounds! It looked like fun!
We hope you are all well! Look forward to seeing you when we return home. Bye for now, Love Joanne and Joe xxx
