Hi again all,
We are nearly at the end of our journey. Today we train down to London to fly out tomorrow night. We will spend 2 days in Bangkok then off home - we arrive on Saturday night.
After Brugge we headed to Amsterdam - it was a bit stressful as we did not have any accommodation, it was a weekend and there was literally no accommodation!! We got to Amsterdam and I spent 1 1/2 hours in a que to buy train tickets for the next day and Andrew qued for accommodation. It was around 6pm and some people had not showed up so we got their beds. But it was shared accommodation and when I woke up in the morning I thought I was in the middle of heathrow's runway - I had a jumbo jet in the next bed. I have never heard snoring so loud in my life!!! Amsterdam was a very busy place didn't stay here for too long we left the next afternoon.
We booked flights to Edinburgh out of Dusseldorf (Germany) so we trained down to Dusseldorf and luckily we went to check things out at the airport the night before because when we got there they told us that ryanair actually flies out of Weeze a 2 hour train/bus ride from there. And it was back in the direction that we just came from!! Needless to say that was not one of our most enjoyable days. We made it to Weeze about 10.30pm but did manage to find some accommodation there.
Edinburgh put on a lovely day for us yesterday we had a look around the old town and went through the castle - it was fantastic, well worth the jouney up here I liked Edinburgh and the surrounding areas that we drove through on the way back to Penrith. It was also fantastic to get back to an english speaking country where we can read the signs and talk to people.
Look forward to seeing those of you in New Zealand soon.
xoxo
Jodie and Andrew
