Creamfields has been and gone. And whilst I thoroughly enjoyed myself, was pleased I experienced the first ever Creamfields in Australia, and loved every minute of my friends' company during the day... the festival itself lacked a little something and The Bloody Beetroots (the headline act) were a big letdown. But never mind. It was an awesome experience nonetheless.
A few weekends later, Jess, Neil and I went to see the new Robin Hood film followed by 'a couple of drinks' in The Three Wise Monkeys, several drinks (actually lots and lots) in The Columbian later and a stumbled walk home I woke up with one of the worst hangovers I have ever had!! But we agreed it was one of the best nights out in Sydney yet, probably in the most part because of the spontaneity of it all.
Then on the Sunday Neil and I ventured down to Hyde Park and the Botanic Gardens to watch Kiwi John and Jess compete in the Sydney Half Marathon. Whilst we watched the runners making their final preparations and heading for the start line, Neil and I tucked in to a bacon and egg roll! Well it was 7am!! We saw Jess twice on the course, which was pretty good going considering we weren't sure where we were going to be stood before hand. We only saw Kiwi the once, and in fact were starting to wonder if he was taking part at all.
Unfortunately shortly after this time, I came down with a fever which turned out to be tonsilitis. I didn't even realise that I could get this having had my tonsils removed, but apparently you can! So I had some time off work to recover and regain my strength. During this time I also planned and booked my East Coast trip and am set to leave Sydney on the 8th June. First stop - Bryon Bay...
As such, this is my last blog post from Sydney. But rest assured that once the antibiotics are finished I will be ready to say goodbye to the city that has been my home for six months, in style.
