Hello- sorry we havn't written for ages must have been quite busy!!! Now is the tricky bit to try and remember what we have been up to since we last wrote.

Went on our walk around the Abel Tasman- was about a 4 hr walk but good fun. Got a water taxi to Bark Bay and then walked to Anchorage Bay and got a water taxi back. When we got back George and I went on a 2 hr Horse trek. We rode on the beach and then through a forest. It was good fun but hurt your bottom. My Horse did not like George's so we couldn't walk too close!!!! Was glad to get off after the 2 hrs as it was hard to relax on the horse as we didn't have much control!!!! Don't think i'm a natural rider!!!

Next day traveled to Nelson for the day. We really liked it there- quite small town. We were only there for one night so just wondered and then the next morning before bussing it to Kaikoura we went to a food and craft market- couldn't buy anything though as we had loads of food to carry as we were told Kaikoura didn't have any shops so Rob made up a stew and we had lots of ingredients for the next 3 days!!!

In Kaikoura we went whale watching!!! It was great. We saw a sperm whale. It took quite a long time as we saw it's tale and dive down and our tour guide said they spend anything from 30 - 45 minutes under the water so we had to follow it and wait for it to re surface. To be honest it just looked like a big floating log that occcasionly blew water up, but when it dived back down you got a really good view as it hunched it's back and the its tale went up in the air - very special. That afternoon we went on a walk - really nice walk. Around the peinsula and the seal colony. It was early evening but still quite hot. We walked through fields with cows in!!! it was really strange as from one view there were green fields and cows (looked just like home!!) and then you turned around to view mountains and the sea. Took about 4 hrs so when we got back we were starving for our stew!!!

Next day (yesterday) we traveled to Christchurch. Really nice city. As soon as we got there we went for something to eat and a drink. Were all very tired so didn't say out for long. George tought me how to play chess- i won first time!!!! We are flying out of Christchurch so will get a proper look around then.

This morning up v early to come to Oamura (where we are now). Just going to find something for lunch in a minute. There is a cheese factory here which we are hoping to go to and also to see the blue and yellow eyed penguins. Leave here tomorrow lunchtime to go to Milford Sounds where we are hoping to do a 4 day trek!!!!!AHHHHHHHHHH.
