After much research we finally narrowed down a long list of thing we would have liked to do while we were in Hollywood. We were up early this morning so that we were able to cram them all in in one day. Managed to find a really good deal on a one day pass for a number of attractions in hollywood so we were very pleased to save some money. Tourist places really know how to rip you off.
We arrived on holly blvd and walked down the walk of fame- saw lots of names we recognized obviously, but also a lot I think we are too young to have heard of! Our first stop was at the Madame Tussaud's museum which is much better than the one in London! Met all sorts of very realistic looking wax models- some rubbish ones too but we can forgive. We took far to many pictures but it was fun and there was silly hats for us to put on- easily amused I know but we know how to have fun!
Next we got on a tour bus around the hollywood area and Beverly hills. This was fun- tour guide was slightly annoying and a huge group of rather large Americans crammed into the bus with what seemed like a feast of fried food but we enjoyed in anyway. Saw the holly wood sign and famous homes like Matt LeBlanc, Britney Spears, Jacki Chan, Tom cruise (chimney only) and the beckham's. Quite hard to take pictures and the ones we did take we have now forgotten which is which but we can still say we saw them! Ha! We went for lunch at hooters (definitely brought a Tshirt) and then had a quick wander around the chinese theatre where all the famous handprints are in the floor.
Our final stop was at the Warner bro's studio. This was our favorite and most valued part of our day! Saw all the backlot sets of lots of films and tv series and was transported around in a rather large golf cart. We even got to go on the set of friends in central perk cafe. And.... We sat on the couch! No way! Amazing! Then we had a look around the tv sets of the Ellen show and big bang theory was all rather exciting! There was some filming going on that day for pretty little liars but security were being mean and didnt let us through to have a sneaky peek. Kat and i were tempted yo run off the tour but thought better of it in the end. Shame maybe we would have been scouted! The tour ended with a museum type place but when the whole top floor was dedicated to harry potter we were too keen. Even put on the real sorting hat so you now know a member of the griffindor and hufflepuff house! So sad I know.
To round off such a fun day we then went to downtown Disney! So exciting but left me wanting to go and visit Micky mouse. We saw the fireworks which were rather spectacular and then headed back.
The sun is supposed to come out tomorrow so hopefully there will be some beach time on the agenda!
