Today we took a train to Stranraer. Yesterday when we were at Rhynie me and Conley had a Nerf war I had a 6 barrell and Conley got the big gun. But I still won because Conley kept popping his head out from his hiding space and I would just shoot sometimes he would be running and I would hit him in the bum. Then we went to a castle that Mark manages. Me and Conley played pool and Conley won.( only because he plays pool alot.) Then when we were about to go there was a huge frozen puddle outside and me and Conley smashed it. Then we went home and me and Conley played Lego Lord of the Rings and we finished the first movie and accidentally killed Gandolf on the way. There was one point in the game where we where fighting a boss and first he shot me with an arrow then a broom then a banana and I died from the banana!!!!!!!.

Brilliant catching up with kyles and mark in rhynie, great to have a bit of breathing space from the kids thanks Isla and Conley. And talk about spoilt private tours around a castle during the day and home killed venison cooked to perfection with a few very good drams of whiskey for jas wow!!! Managed to catch both our trains today with only minor histerics from Paige to arrive in Stranraer. Lovely first impressions of this place with everyone being super friendly and helpful, and a gorgeous big doggie to cuddle called Big Merv looking after our stuff, also very picturesque. Hoping to be up to sea traveling in the morning- happy new year!!!

Scotland and Shetland have been incredibly kind to us both in terms of people and weather ! I have lost count of the number of times the weather forecast has foretold heavy rain, high winds and snow ... But we have lucked out every time ... Just enough snow to keep things pretty, just enough breeze to remind you that you are in winter and nearly no rain that has fallen on my head (the worst was while we were on the train between Glasgow and Stranraer today, and by the time we got here the sun was beaming.
Thanks a million Mark and Kylie for treating us like kings, the sat nav sat neglected until past Aberdeen airport and it made for a MUCH better trip. The people here in Stranraer have kept the standard of awesome hospitality up, while hauling ourselves off the wharf/train station with backpacks and bags a cab driver pulled up at just the right time, even though I knew the fare would only be a few pound to the pub we are staying at he went out of his way to offer advice, book a cab to the ferry tomorrow for us and just be a great way to start our time here ... wandering around town since everyone we meet and talk to is just the same. Scottish hospitality is second to none :) I just supped the last sip of my Glenlivet, so that only means one thing ... I'd better go get another, it is Hogmany after all !
Off to Belfast in the morning and Dublin I the afternoon where we spend a couple of days before flying to Bejing, will blog again before we fly out :)
Happy New Years
