We made another hop, this time to Yangshuo ! (thanks Cos, this place is brilliant) - after the mad city life of Beijing and Xi'an, and days of busy sightseeing we have come here to put our feet up for 5 nights before heading off to Hong Kong via train. As soon as we arrived here at the Tea Cosy (our hotel) we all relaxed, very little traffic,for every 10 scooters that you see there will be 5 bicycles, 2 tractors and 1 person taking their favourite water buffalo for a walk (seriously, no one walks their dog but everyone walks their water buffalo and cattle)
We grabbed a couple of tandem bikes and rode to Baisha dropping in to a Qing Dynasty village on the way to give the locals something to laugh at (lovely 12 degrees here today which honestly feels more like low 20's after the north) We went to the market for lunch then went west to the river, put the bikes on a tractor and jumped on a couple of rafts for a cruise down the river back to the bikes. Wrap it all up with a cold beer on the balcony as the sun goes down and it's all pretty chilled. Heading off on another bike ride in the morning and will get the kids to blog about it tomorrow !
