Today was spent round the pool, beach and shops. A great day and batteries recharging nicely.

Today was spent at sea. We boarded the Wavedancer in Port Douglas Marina at 9.30 and cast off at 10am for a 1 hour trip to the edge of the Great Barrier Reef and the Low Islands. Catie seemed to be trying to channel her grandad's sea legs on the trip and wandering the vessel like she was on dry land (and to be honest she's not that great on two legs on dry land). Up early, toast and off to build sandcastles at the beach 200 metres from the resort. Liam loves to ferry sand and build castles, Catie loves to throw mud at them, push them over or sit on them. This makes for a turbulent time where it's funny for a while, then very confrontational. Up early and off to the zoo. Wildlife habitat where the kids got to feed wallabies and kangaroos. A very big kangaroo freaked Liam out and he showed some definite promise at short distance running events. After the zoo we wandered through the shops and had ice cream.
