well after a bus, train, ferry, bus and bus i arrived in athens from the amalfi coast, rather hot and tired! unfortunatley for mei ling her flight was delayed, so she didn't arrive unitl 22.30 at night, so i then went out to the airport to meet her. for those of you who may have done the ferry from italy to greece, you feel like you are coming on the back door, very hard to find your way from the ferry to the bus to athens, then from the bus station to the local bus that takes you into the centre of athens! as opposed to the nice easy metro from the airport into town. but that's travelling hey! the ferry was quite nice, i shared a room with a girl from greece that is studying in rome and on her way home for the summer holidays, she tried to teach me greek, but my pronunciation was the best (but when is it!!)

first day in athens was long and hot, of course we visited the acropolis, then the archaeological museum o get out the the heat! the museam was one fo the best museums in terms of layout that i have been too. the acropolis was amazing, just one of those places you have to go to if you are in greece. after a shower to get ride of the dust of the acropolis mixed in with sweat of the hot day (37 degrees), meil ing and i went for some greek food, we have decided that we like it alot! for me the nescafe frappe or the freddocino has been a great find, basically cold coffee, but oh so good!

the following day was the temple of olympian zeus (which is the picture), then the olympic staduim for the first modern olympic games, then some tourist shopping, followed by more greek food (and some beer)!
