Greetings. The photo confirms my current location and departure place for the Camino- Due to leave Sydney on the 29th August and start the camino at Le Puy on the 4th September. Current activities: Breaking in new boots; clicking around the suburbs practising with sticks; listing names of family and friends in small travel book to carry them in my backpack; receiving a performance enhancing drug in the form a cortizone injection in the upper thigh to assist in the geriatric complaint of tendonitis; took time out to attend George Orwell's 1984- a powerful performance. One is constantly reminded of two people:one a contemporary of Geroge Orwell - the Supreme Commander of the deliciously ironically named the "Peoples Democratic Republic of Korea" Kim Il Sung- committed to the principle of "Double think" which is the "ability to hold two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously and accepts both of them, making sure that all his adoring subjects agree. The second one? Fill in the blank..... Tomorrow is the 1st August the day horses have their birthdays but I am concentrating on shanks pony for the next four weeks in the hope of completing the course unscathed- preparations are in place should i have to return in an urn.
This is a test blog. Please feel free to unscribe- blogs can become tedious and repetitious especially with all the competition. However your comments along the way would indeed add a welcome fillip to the daily challenge.
I will write one more time closer to departure day.
Warm regards
Jim

JudyvWalsh Hi Jim I hope this one gets to you as that will improve my confidence with these things. I'm pretty sure that I was never successful using the previous blog. Am mpressed with your preparation and hope you will have another wonderful experience. I imagine that along this route you will experience some of the great pilgrim churches of France. Very much looking forward to your impressions. Affectionately, Judy Walsh.
Joanne Karcz Looking forward to following your journey, Jim. My friends will be following in your footsteps but about three weeks later. You will miss each other. Buen Camino.
Bob Gray Memorable photos taken at Glen Davis Jim. It's been a long way from there to Land's End. I missed the horses birthday by one day, being today, the Feast Day of St. Ignatius. Yoko's present to me was a book called 世界遺産,サンヂアッゴ巡礼の歩き方. It starts at Le Puy. We will be following your every post. BTW, everyone has to 'urn' their place in the Kingdom, but I do look forward to having lamb chops at Lane Cove again after your return from Spain (the second coming?). Ganbatte.
