We had the best time here. Off to Rwanda tomorrow morning (6:00 a.m.)! I'm so excited to take Jim to see the silverbacks - after all I know where they are and sure I can find them. We will leave Kigali straight away with a +-3 hour drive to the Virunga Mountains where we will hike in on Tuesday and return to Kigali on Wednesday. Not sure if we will have internet connection while in the Mtns and will post pics later!!

On Saturday we when to the area called the Cradle of Mankind near Johanesburg. The first stop was at Sterkfontain Caves which is one of the most important sites in the discovery of human origins. We took the first day in South Africa to just relax like you should on a honeymoon. The Saxon Hotel is in Sandhurst, a very ritzy section of Johannesburg, and is very nice but encompassed with walls like everything else in Joburg. Asheville to Johnesburg was no hassle and actually easier than we had psyched ourselfs down for. We are glad we had traded in our frequent flyer miles for a busniness class upgrade, but intially we were very concerned. The adjoining business class seats on a 777 are orientated like the legs of a V with you being one of the legs. That puts your heads near each other only when you are 3/4 way inclined.
