Up early for a big breakfast and the hotel Shuttle bus to the airport. Feeling very jaded and physically tired this morning as we crammed a lot into yesterday's Singapore fling. As has been a delight on this trip we again had a smooth transit through the airport and onto our flight to Bangkok. A small aircraft for this short 2 hour hop - the Ryanair of the Asian world. No food nod rink and no films. Fortunately it was a short trip and was 15 mins ahead of schedule.
On arrival at Bangkok Airport we experienced the only real hiccup going through passport control for the whole trip to date. We were asked for our boarding cards as they said that our flight numbers were wrong. I said that the boarding pass was only for boarding the aircraft not for passport control. After some frustrating argument it turned out that they wanted the flight number of the carrier, rather than the flight number we were code sharing under. Problem solved we were allowed into Bangkok. Boy is is humid here. Just like sitting in a sauna. Mel met us at arrivals despite getting lost on her first airport run and after a coffee we made a faultless journey back to Mel and Bens house, about an hour West of the Airport and about 30 mins outside Bangkok City. Settled in and had a long plunge in the commune swimming pool before Ben cooked up a wonderful Thai Curry. We were all tired and I was feeling somewhat jaded so we hit the sack reasonably early, looking forward to a gentle day tomorrow before the weekend when Ben is off work and we can tick off items on our Bangkok bucket list (whatever they may be).
