Well I arrived in Maui last monday and stayed at the banana bungalow hostel. I rocked up to find what looked like an over grown garden of bamboo and banana trees but within it there was a building ( thank god) it was quite rustic there but an excellent place to stay! They had free tours everday as they were quite away from good public transport - worked out to be a massive bonus as we got to see so much of the island!
I literally put my bags down and a girl from Melbourne popped her head in ( she was also in the same doom ) and said we're to the beach are you coming!? She was ace and I spent the next couple of days with Nat.
Tuesday - 1 st Tour we took the road to Hona which is quite long, stopping off at a black sand beach then across the rocks to a red sand beach then stopped at Aunty Sandys shop which sold the best banana bead Ive ever tasted!! We then stopped off at a water fall and some of the lads did jumps in to the deep water area ! No chance was I doing it, there was a small landing spot and I know my luck id hit a rock on my way down! But we drove further on to another spot where the landing area was a lot bigger so I dug deep and headed to the cliff edge! OMG I cant tell you it was a 40ft drop in front of me! It took 3 attempts to walk up to it a lot of - yikes, crumbs - 1-2 errrr and I finally did it but held my nose which didnt help ! I hit it with my bum and it did feel like it had been wacked later! However Nat did the same but worse the next she woke up to a dinner dish size bruise on her left cheek!
Wednesday - was little blurr really but I do remember have excellent cocktails at happy hour! It might have been because I woke early with Cindy, chelsea and Thomas to drive up to was the sunrise over the volcanoe, it was a pilgrimage as there must have been 200 people there ( crazy aswell) we left at 3.30am to arrive in time! Tired!!! ( cold too)
Thursday - We went to beaches and I went snorkelling for the first time - OMG I swam with Turtles they were huge ! Bigger than me and Id purchased a water proof camera so i hoping they will turn out well! I cant take all the credit as Clint one of the tour guides took most of them as I was struglling with keeping water out of my air tube thing, swim with flippers etc!
Friday - Day off as Id managed to burn myself to a lovely lobster colour the day before and I needed to do washing etc! There was only one terminal so i couldnt email as much with a queue all the time!
Saturday - All I can say is pain - the tour was to walk through the volcanoe Haleakala which stands a 10,000 feet high on a 13 mile hike then watch the sunset ( already seen the sunrise so wasnt sure why I was doing this). We started in the sliding sands walk which was about 8 miles of sand / dirt and rocks placed carefully so you would trip on them! OMG my feet were boiling, swollen , sand in my shoes so it was like sand paper ! At the final stop before we had to walk on the switchbacks I covered my toes in vaseline and that stopped any further blisters to the 4 that had already appeared! ( not sure how we were all still smiling but we were) . Then the final climb 3 miles straight up using the old gost trails so for ever 30 meters you had climbed 10 m! Soul destroying after about an hour! But we did it and it was worth it! Home and straught to bed !
Sunday - Beach day ! Last day before I flew back to waikiki, Big Beach little beach its called. Little beach is a nudist beach but on sundays a lot of people where swim gear. It was like a little festival, about 30 people playing drums, bongos etc excellent to watch! Everyone has beers and joins in dancing and when the sun goes down there is fire dancing! Several people did it and not everyone has clothing on! Not sure whether to put the video of that up!
And here I am back in Waikiki with only a further 3 mossy bites! Flying to Fiji tomorrow, random met a lady from Harrogate at the hostel and we are on the same flight to fiji which will be nice, she was lovely and looked after me for a couple of days making me dinner and sandwiches! In return Ive helped her set up an email adress and got in contact with her daughter as her phones were b*****ed!
Ive met some excellent people and all still very kind and fun! So far so good! Wonder what Fiji brings! Getting my laptop send out in 3 weeks so ill be in contact more! The new age travellor has all electronic goods, I phones and laptops! I didnt think Id need either but I do! lol xx Hope everyone is really well !
P.S Tan has finally arrived after the lobster affect xxxx

Gibbo Glad to hear your getting right into the travelling spirit and meeting loads of nice people. No danger of you being alone for very long, miss chatty knickers. We're having a bit of a heat wave here at the moment but next week when I get married it looks like there might be some rain about - "effin typical". Fingers crossed lady luck is around on Thursday. Its alot better in the office now as everyone is a bit happier as Rob has moved down to the 2nd floor. We're all singing the wicked witch is dead. When you going to attach some photo's showing off your great tan and all the great looking nude babes from the naked place. Looking fwd to that. I hope you enjoy your next place of visit even more than this one. May the travellers spirit be with you "Obi one Omeara" Love Andy xxx
