8 countries in 33 days!
So it's the night before I leave and one of the first concerns I have about traveling for over 24 hours is "Will I have enough snacks?" From the looks of it, I should have enough salty/carb/processed food to feed all of the coach passengers. Now that airlines offer little more than overpriced snack boxes with essentially the same bad-for-you food that I can buy at Target for way less, it seems to only make sense to byos- bring your own snacks.
I will be flying solo all the way to Zurich while the rest of my family/friends are all traveling in small groups. I have a quick 50 minute stopover in Newark, New Jersey, and then head straight onto Zurich where I will meet up with the rest of my group. From there, we will be taking a looooonnnggg train ride down to Italy where we will be staying in a villa overlooking the Mediterranean. Jealous yet?
I guess I should share which countries I will be visiting on this trip: Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, England, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and France. I have been to Italy and England before, but have never visited the other countries.
I guess I should also clarify who is all going on this trip. My parents, my brother, my cousin Chris Combes, family friends Bruce and Renee Ewing, family friends Paul and Leona Bartel, and their daughter Leah are all heading across the pond for an exciting adventure. Some in the group have been to Europe before and some haven't. Either way, isn't it fun to travel with people you know?!
I plan on blogging daily and sharing pictures of what I'm doing. I hope I can do all if these countries justice!
I will have a lot more to say once I actually LEAVE on the trip. :) I hope you enjoy reading my blog and if you don't, I'll be so sad. Nothing that almost five weeks in Europe couldn't fix, though! :)
Until next time,
Ciao!
