Hey everybody...we are so sorry we have not managed to update this in a ridiculous amount of time but Australia was non stop so didnt have time to get on the internet very often and not long enough to spend time updating this!!
So we'll start from the top,
SINGAPORE...
After arriving follwing a gruelling 30 hour journey from thailand (including being dumped in malaysia) we finally arrived in singapore obviously mega excited about Franny meeting us especially after spending an hour making a banner for her (which we later left on a train)!
So our 1st couple of days we spent getting to know the place and of corse some amazing (window) shopping on 'ORCHARD' street...and enjoying a great curry in little india on a banana leaf. We ran aound like headless chickens for the airport to pick fran up..not knowing the flight number...time she was landing nor the terminal, but we got there just in time..luckily!all to be greeted with tears (the banner must of either been really good or really bad to upset her that much)!
Our first day as a threesome in singapore we spent in the zoo and then to the night safari which was amazing - we saw hippo's, crocs, elephants and kangaroos (all the usual stuff really) the night safari was cool and got to walk around in the dark with the animals. we went through a bat inclosure.....which was riather scary in the dark!!! Emma was the brave one and went first... Jess held on to her and fran held on to Jess and we all screamed together...(well fran mostly!!)
The next day we visited Sentosa island the man made 'beach' resort in Singapore, didnt get chance to do much there as got stuck in a moooooohhhhhhhhhaaaaaaasive storm...thunder and lightning..the lot!!!!
on the everning we went to Raffles Hotel for Singapore Slings and monkey nuts in the Long Bar...which was BRILLIANT however the bill was NOT!!! we then headed down to Clarks Quay where they have the most crazily themed bars including a Clinic..!
AUSTRALIA...
Cairns- First stop on our east coast tour...managed to check out the amazing Great Barrier Reef on a day tour by boat where we snorkled and saw the most amazing coral and fish in such clear waters out at sea..so spectacular!! Whilst in Cairns we also went on a tour to the Tablelands region where we swam in freshwater lakes and under waterfalls including the waterfall Peter Andre filmed Mysterious Girl video (we feel your jealousy from here)! In our spare tiem (not that we had much) we went to the lagoon on the waterfront to top up our tans.
Before out next destination we stopped off in a croc farm, where we held snakes baby crocs and fed kanagaroo's also watch the BIG crocs get fed (Henry)..some from a further distance than others (ask fran)!
Next stop Airlie..after checking out the big Mango...to go along with the various other big things in oz!
Airlie Beach- Merry Christmas to us! so Christmas in Australia aka non-alcohol day!! yea thats rights after taking our time to get ready from xmas eve night out, we criused out from the hostel at 10 had a couple of drinks at a few bars..headed to a club at 11.45 swollowed half a beer, headed to the dance floor next thing we knew the lights were on and it was hometime..we spent the remainder of the night outside (the best) pie shop with plenty of santas picking up a pie to get them through the night!! we are still slightly unsure why we were never told that alcohol is never sold on xmas day?! Christmas day morning (without a hangover) we opened our cards and pressies and hung them on our washing line betwwen our bunkbeds!!we ate our (fish n chips) christmas dinner on the beach and spent the remainder of the day by the lagoon in the sunshine with our xmas hats on!!! Boxing day we spent how else other than sailing the whitsunday islands in gorgeous weather. We sailed for 3 days with magificant views, brilliant snokeling and sleeping under the stars on deck, pure bliss! Met some brilliant people and drank lots of goon and played lots of drinking games...'orange, orange and kiwi, kiwi calling passionfruit, passionfruit'! not forgetting 'potato, potato'!
Next stop along the way was Kroombit cattle station where we learnt to crack a whip, and rode on the mechanical Bull (video's will follow) the next moring we were woken at 6am by Guedo are oz bus driver bringing us breakfast of peanut butter on toast with beans- ewww..needless to say no one tried any! we thwn lassoed goats which was the funniest thing..franny came out on top with a craking time of 7 seconds..whilst one girl chased a goat around for about 10 minutes before giving up!
Then on to hervey bay for new year which we spent in chav city, if we wernt listening to bagpipes we were listening to beatboxing...random!! New years day we got our 4X4 and met the group we would be spending the next 3days with and set off for Fraser Island. We drove around this huge Sand Island (more sand on fraser island than the whole of the Sahara desert) and squished a few jellyfish on our way..we pitched up our tents, showered with spiders cooked a bbq and sat around the camp fire with marshmallows (and goon).
We stopped off in Noosa for a night which was really nice and a shame we couldnt ahve spent more time there..we walked the coast of the national parck and saw Koalas sleeping in trees, and dolphins in the sea swimming with the surfers!! it was her we ate the best ice cream in the world..yes..wait for it........forrero roche ice cream (chi u muct b so jealous..if your not then u should be)!
after noosa we travelled down to Surfers Parapise where we did the best thing you can do in surfers...go out drink and dance the night away!! which we literally did getting in at an unquestionable time some drunker than others and paying for it the next day...!! managed to check out by left left jess on the sofa nursing a sore head while emma and fran hit the beach to check out surfers by day!!
Got on our bus to head for Byron but were informed that there would be no room at ANY inn in Byron for the next 2nights!! lucklily emma's cousins live a half an hour away so after a quick sos call he lent us his pad and car for 2days!!so we checked out byron, coolangata and tweedheads in the comfort of a car and had a great nights sleep in a proper bed in proper house!!
on the way to sydeny we stopped in a surf camp in Coffs Harbour where we stayed next to the beach and had a free surfing lesson..which we were actually pretty good at...standing up first time..easy peasy!!really great fun! the stars at night on the beach were unbelievable seeing the milky way and shooting stars!!
Last but by no means least, Sydney definately the best city we have visited for many reasons, obviously we spent time checking out the hot spots, seeing the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge by day and beautifully lit up at night! we took a long walk rounf including the botanical gardens, the rocks and Darling harbour..which was amazing but knackaring come the end! We took the ferry to Manly for the day where we met a couple we met on the whitsundays, manly was great a lovely beach and unbelievably close to the city..so jealous of people who live here! sbut 'best' of all we visited jess's favourite part...the beach where Home and Away is filmed!!it was 'amazing' (for jess)!! on our last day in Sydney we visited Bondi beach after checking out the view of sydney from the skytower..Bondi was cool but bot as 'cool' as the men working out on the childrens playground...i mean work out station!!what a bunch of girls!! that night we went to Sydney Ice Bar where we wrapped up warm in a huge fur coat, gloves and boots and headed into the -13 bar where we had cocktails and sat on ice chairs...we now know how u all feel at home..unlucky!!The morning after was a very sad day...as we said our goodbyes to our dearest Franner (yes the nanny)! and Australia and headed for the airport..which finally leads us to New Zealnd which we will update asap (promise)!!
love you all lots and lots...hugs and kisses
Emmer and Jesser
