Hello, sorry we haven´t updated for ages - we´re going to give you an omnibus now!

Just in case something goes wrong with the computer after this entry, we are now in Paraguay and all is well, tomorrow we are off to Iguazu Falls in Brazil :-)

This is starting with the least recent of our adventures, still in Peru....

We went to stay with the local Indians on an island on Lake Titicaca. It was quite a strange experience, the families are all very poor farming families, who build an extra room on their house to allow tourists to stay as this gets them more money than farming. they fed us their usual food of potatoes and squeaky cheese! (im sure our subsequent dodgy tummies were not a coincidence!!) and then in the evening we went to a dance with them, when they dressed us in comedy outfits involving several skirts, a floral blouse and a headscarf to protect our modesty (see pics on flickr!). They then made us to do some crazy dancing which was quite exhausting at 4200m above sea level!! We also saw the reed islands of Uros which are entirely made out of reeds, and the people live in reed houses and go around in reed boats! reedy!

That´s about it for Lake Titicaca/Peru, then it was on to Bolivia, which is another blog entry.....
