So ... We are back in old Sydney town. But since the internet was so crap at the last hotel we stayed at, I did not have the patience to load our last few photos taken. And here is an update on our last days in Thailand.
Last Tuesday we went on a tour by Long Tail boat to Ko Hong / Hong Island. When we arrived at the main beach of the island it was super busy! But our guide informed us we weren't staying for long and showed us to our kayaks. We kayaked the entire circumference of the island enjoying the sights along the way and stopping at a couple of beaches to snorkel.
Stu saw a lot of great stuff in the water while snorkelling but I am too chicken to do it. I did try though and saw a few orange and black stripy fish, which freaked me out.
Once we arrived back at the beach from which we started, we saw that the crowd no longer existed there, so we went for a swim. And at this beach lies my hat which Cameron gave me for Christmas ... I'm pretty dissapointed I lost it and now I can feel that my scalp is burnt.
After our swim, we left our kayaks and the longtail boat took us to another island. When we arrived at this beach in the distance we could see storm brewing and got a couple good pictures of it. We chilled out, went for a swim & more snorkelling. We got out of the water after a while to check out the rockery and within a couple of minutes, the beach was empty of the tourists and boats that were there before. We looked up and the wind had picked up ... A LOT. Our guide told us we would have to wait till it died off a bit. So we sat under a cave, which seemed like the Thai guy who lived on that beach's kitchen, with another Aussie couple. We were thinking we would be there for the night.
After a super bumpy, windy and wet ride, we arrived safely back in Ao Nang.
That night we went out for a few drinks. We met a Sweedish girl and Norwegian guy who were bf & gf. We spent the night talking crap, playing pool & connect 4 and making fun of the 12 year old Thai boy running the bar who told us he was turning 19 this year. Such a good night!
The next day we were typical tourists of a Thai beach and did nothing. Spent the entire day at the pool & beach.
Our last day in Ao Nang, we went for a walk up these insane wooden stairs after breakfast and just before check - out. Once we got to the end of the stairs we got to a resorts "private" breach which we had to sign in & out of.
Our flight back to Brisbane with V Australia was in Premium Economy and I don't think I can go back Economy! It was awesome ... sparkling wine on arrival.
We arrived in Brisbane at 6am and made our way to the hotel and from there to DREAMWORLD! It was a great day and we got to go to Whitewater World as well. After staying in Brisbane for a night we are now back in Sydney.
