Hi,
Sorry it has been a while since we have done a blog, infact it has been that long that i nearly forgot where we went after singapore but how could i have nearly forgot Malacca.
We got threre after a bus journey across the border which ment being rudely awoken from our sleep (which we have got v v good at on buses) to show our passports and carry our bag through security (a completly pointless exercise as they checked nothing). We got our fingerprints taken which was wierd (and i managed to avoid somehow) and we think it was all to do with a man that had escaped from prison (the only man to manage it). It was really strange there was wanted posters up for him..... first time i had ever seen that!
When we finally got to Malacca we checked into our hotel owned by a very sweet old malaysian man and went to explore our new home for the next few days. It was an experience. I think that we must have been a little off the beaten track because we seemed to be something to look at. We had practically only just stepped out of the hotel and we were getting beeped at which we werent sure we liked all that much but then it just got funny..... a little old man went past on his bike staring at us and tinkling his horn, we had to laugh at that.
After we had finished our exploring for the day we went to the famous light and sound show..... ummm it was different. We got there and we weren't so sure it was going ahead because there was noone else there. Not so sure that it isall that famous anymore though because we were the only ones there..... aha we were the only 4 in the whole big stadium thing. Then it started, we were expecting big things as you can imagine being famous and all but i have to say i thinkit was rather lacking something. It was all about the history of malacca so there was quite alot to fit into a hour but i tell you something it was a hour of my life i will never get back, it was interesting and all but the fact that the light part of the show was only the odd building lighting up or a few flashing to symbolise a battle you can understand why we were dissappointed when we were expecting laser shows in the sky and laura was even expecting laser horses when she heard horses hooves!!!
The next day we went down jonker street which was full of shops and a few of us managed to buy a few things which was good.
Think that was the main parts from malacca seems that long ago now.
off back to the beach now
Love from us all xx
