Perth
After a month visiting all my friends and family and enjoying some home comforts it was time to continue my epic trip! I absolutely loved being home and had such a great time catching up with everyone, and eating way too much English food!! But i was also quite glad that my trip wasn't over yet, i didn't feel like i was finished exploring the world quite yet! So another year of adventure it is and on to Perth!
The West coast of Australia has varied weather, in the summer it is extremely hot, but in the winter it is pretty chilly. It's around English spring so it's not exactly freezing but it feels cold!! I started looking for work as soon as i got here and when i went in to Jamie's Italian they offered me an interview on the spot, and i got the job! It's a really nice place to work and the people are lovely so i'm happy :).
After a few days on my own, Laura, who i met in Surfers Paradise, arrived. We went and paid Amie a visit who is au pairing in Mandurah which is about 40 mins from Perth city. We went to Serpentine Nation Park and made friends with some kangaroos. It was great to see both of them again, Laura also got work quickly in a hotel so we settled in to the hotel and awaited Cheryl's arrival, another cave girl! We also befriended a Welsh girl at the hostel called Holly. We realised that instead of living in a room of 6 people in bunk beds for $175 a week we could rent an amazing flat for $120 a week!! Holly's friend from home Sophie arrived and we all took out a 3 month lease on a beautiful apartment. The complex is right in the CBD centre and has a gym, 2 pools, 2 jacuzzis, a games room, a sauna, bbq areas and we have our own massive balcony with outside eating area! It's absolute luxury and we are definitely flashpacking now! It's so nice to come home from work to a cosy flat and watch tv or just chill out.
I'm really enjoying my time in Perth so far, i've been working a lot but made time to visit Perth zoo the other day which was great fun and the weather was amazing, 25 degrees and no sun! Winter days have never been better!
