Melbourne
Melbourne reminded me a lot of Sydney, the CBD is a large bustling city and people are just there to work and then leave to go home to the suburbs. I was staying in the CBD but i soon regretted this when i went to visit my friend Beth who i met in Sydney last year. She was staying in St. Kilda, a beachside suburb about 25 mins on the tram from the city centre. St Kilda is quite a hipster area with lots of quirky bars and restaurants. I much preferred it to the city so i came out almost every day and hung out with Beth and her friends. I didn't do much in Melbourne, i looked around the alleyways covered in street art and graffiti in the centre and tried out some of the amazing sushi and coffee they have on offer there. Melbourne is a foodie's heaven with lots of organic and alternative cafes and restaurants selling specialty food. I spent my time in Melbourne drinking in nice bars, eating amazing food and drinking smooth tasty coffee, but i had a great time! I spent the last few days preparing for Asia and stocking up on bug spray etc. Amazingly for the second time a guy at the hostel i was staying in gave me over 3 months worth of Malaria tablets, for free! He had already been to Asia and didn't need them anymore, so i haven't had to buy any as of yet! I bid farewell to Beth and her friends and flew to Sydney ready for my flight to Singapore!
