So things seem to be picking up in what we thought was going to be a cold and miserable Sydney as we had to look for work. As it happens though the rain stopped this week (after causing us endless amounts of grief last week with smelly damp coming through the walls of our hostel) and the sun is shining, we both found jobs AND most of all we have moved into a flat. Its costing us the same price as we were paying for smelly damp dorms, over looks Darling Harbor and has a gym and pool! We share the flat with two English boys from Manchester who seem nice, and we have a tv and dvd player so i get to watch neighbors 6 months ahead - so much has changed!!! ha ha!! hmmm what else, oh yeah we bumped into our old room mates from Cairns last week so they came to cook us dinner in our new flat. They're French though so the sauce was a little odd and half the time they cant understand what we say to them but oh well saved us cooking!
Only bad thing about our work is that Hays works in a restaurant so has to work weekends and sometimes evenings and her shifts change, but I work 9-5 so when Im at work she's at home and vise versa. It also means that once a week I have to go into work with a hangover, just to make it fair when we drink on the weekend and she has to go in with one! Tonight Im going to get her very drunk haha! But its lucky that the club we're going to is now a 5 min walk from our flat - result!
Shanes gone now after finally having his bag sent down from Cairns, not sure if I told you that story but short version he helpped a girl in trouble, got punched, went to drown his sorrows, left his bag in storage ready to catch a flight at 5am, at 3am there was no one to let him into the room changed the flight but at 6am still no one and no other flights for a week so he got on the flight anyway and left the bag there! Only a boy! The travel company I was handing out flyers for couriered it down for him though luckily and then he flinally flew out to Thaialnd last Saturday. So week nights when Hayley works Im making the most of the pool and Sauna!
Next week is the Apec thingy. All the world leaders are going to be in Sydney and I think Friday is when Bush arrives! Its going to be anarchy so the whole city is closing down - NO WORK! And cos our balcony overlooks the city we may even get to see a few protests (and lob things at people!)
Last weekend when Hayley was working I went down to Campbel to visit our relatives again. They took me to see a dam, then we played the 'pokies' poker machine and lost some money and then, the best bit, Brenda ran me a nice bubble bath! God you dont know how much I've missed them with two months of hostels dirty showers! Sunday was even better cause I got a hime cooked Roast, complete with Apple pie for desert round at Brendas Daughters. Yum. Next weekend, cos Hayley is working AGAIN, I booked to go skiing in Thredbo which is further South close to the border of Victoria. Should be fun, haven't skied since I was 14! Oh that reminds me, have to update my insurance to cover me!
Anyway I will put up more photos soon!
Love you all!
