Argentina 30th Oct - 5th Nov
After a 22 hour bus from Santiago I made it to Buenos Aires in Argentina. Along the way I had the great fortune of meeting an old Argentinean couple called Liliane and Enrique who insisted on helping me with my poor Spanish and buying me food! They then let me live with them for a few days, continued to feed me and got me addicted to Dulce de Leche a typical Argentinean desert and bought me the best steak I have ever eaten for around four pounds!
In Buenos Aires I visited Recoleta (the posh bit) watched a Tango show in the square and walked around the posh old cemetery looking for Evita's tomb!
From Bs As I then flew to Puerto Iguazu to see the most amazing water falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. I took a boat ride right underneath them and got drenched and then walked right to the top to Gragota Diablo (Throat of the Devil) The photos speak for themselves.
I flew back a day later back to Liliane and Enrique's and visited San Isidro markets and fairs where I had a man carve me an argentinian coin into a necklace, he then proceeded to tell me how easy it was, blindfolded himself and did it again! This man had the shakiest most unsteady hands and legs you{'ve ever seen but his work with a saw was on this tiny coin was unbelievable! He even let me have a go!
So short and sweet was Argentina and then it was back to Chile.
