Finally arrived in Sydney - oh yeah! The minute we got there we bumped into 4 people from our fraiser Island trip so that was cool.
Xmas eve we did the Sydney Harbour brdge climb (check out the sexy outsit in the pics) looked sooo beautiful! The weather was a bit overcast which was a bit of a bummer but the views were still pretty spectacular. It turned out to be more of a walk than a climb but it was still fun. As I was climbing down a train went past me, which is suppose to be very good luck, so we shall wait and see what that brings to me!! Went out with some people from Fraiser Island that night to our hostel bar was a bit of a messy night!
Xmas day was odd - we went to Bondi beach which was fun and very packed and chilled out drinking on the beach all day. My christmas dinner consisted of half a pizza and a burger, not really your traditional day but definately one that will not be forgotten. Lau got me a few pressies so at least i had a few things to open. Im definately looking forward to a proper traditional christmas next year.
Boxing day we headed to Melbourne - ill put that in a seperate entry!!
Then on 29th we flew back into Sydney andstayed with Mels parents, the nicest people ever, they fed me soo much so obviously I adored them!! hehe I even went for a run!! Not quie sure what came over me!! near died afterwards though!!
For new years we were back in Sydney (just added some pics) obviously im not gonna put all of them up there just a taste, im looking forward to boring you all to death when i get back hehe
Anyways New years was brillaint we had to get a spot quite early on and we were the other side of the bridge to the opera house. Dan and Mel found the spot for us so we just sat and chilled out there all day. They had two sets of fireworks some at 9 which were brillaint and then another set at 12 - the ones at 9 where fantastic, didn't think they would be able to better it but they did!! Getting home after the fireworks was a bit of a mission though I didn't mind having to walk and I even found $5 so I was quite happy - what a start to the new year!!
The next day we went to visit the Olympic stadium and swam in the olympic pool though i must confess I was feeling particularly tired and lazy and only swam 2 lenghts and then enjoyed myself in the jacuzzi and sauna - well a girl has to pamper herself!! Went out on the town that night with Kim (girl from fraiser island) and some guys she had met in her hostel one of them ironically who lives and plays for Yaxley football team - so right next to you dad!! Its a small world!
We went to Manley beach the next day which is beautiful and a lot like Newquay just warmer and cleaner!! Apparently this is where the English Rubgy team stayed when they came out - dam , only a few months too late!! Then watched a free movie in our hostel and ate fee popcorn -which again made for a very happy Jen!!
That day we got some new room mates and one of the girls that came into our room was a girl called Rachael who lives in Plymouth and went ot Marjons!!! Im put a pic in to see if anyone recognises her - I didn't!! But we did only overlap by a year!! Sje was a great laugh and had the most appauling sense of direction ever - almost as bad as my spelling!! I had to take her around for the day not that I minded. We ended up in Darling Harbour in the pub!! Having a pint of beautiful cider at 11.30am, though in our defense we had got up early and we thought it was much later!! I then escorted Rachael to the ferry and wandered around the Opera house and the botanical gardens. Where there were sooo many fruitbats, which wer enormous. I desperately tried to get a picture of one in flight but to no avail!! Gutted!! Walked through Hype park on the way back and past the war memorial - didn't realise quite how much there was too see!
My last full day in Sydney we went and had a look around the inside of the Sydney opera house, the arcetecture is pretty weird, but it was definatel yworth the look around. I would have like to have seen a show cos Attila told me the acustics were amazing but just didnt have the time! Anyway went back to Maley beach for the afternoon and sat ont he beach right next to Chan from uni - talk about small world. Anyways her and her man have got engaged so we ended up gossiping for ages about what we had been upto, still can't believe the people that you think you will never see again when you leave uni and you see them around the other side of the world!! Our last night in Sydney so we did in style down Darling Harbour with Darryl (from bryon bay) and aload of people we met up with here - very good night!
