Where the road takes me ...
Hello Again,
It's the day before we leave Austria and we are celebrating vanessa's birthday, nothing to extravagant but we have organised to visit a village called Krems to do some wine tasting.
The train ride was really nice as we weaved our way through sunflower fields and the lovely countryside andthe hills or i suppose the mountains of Austria, anyhow after about an hour on the train we arrived in Krems.
First thing we did was head for the tourist office which our travel guide told us we could do some wine tasting there. So we made our way through the old town which was located in the centre of Krems. It was really pretty with the old buildings and cobbled streets. I really liked these cobbled streets they are so cute, horrible to walk on but still really cute. After wandering around for a while we found one of the main entrances to the old town section after already having walked through most of it and walking the wrong way through an entrance was confusing enough but we did it anyway/
We then followed the directions in the guide book towards the Tourist Office but we just seemed to be walking around in circles you would think three people have some idea how to find one building. We kept walking and wandered through some parks we were very nice and really good lawn however you can't walk on it there are signs all over the place saying keep off the lawn, i tell you what is the point of having beautiful parks with lovely lawns if you just can't walk on it.
Enough about lawn though, we were off again and wandered down another little street that bordered the old town and there it was we finally found a winery, not a tourist office but a winery. So we could finally fulfil part of the celebrations so we tasted a few wines that austria has to offer and with renewed spirits or slight tipsiness we went off again to find the tourist office. We eventually came across one of the museums in krems where one of the ladies that worked there informed us the tourist office was actually located in the neighbouring village .Thankyou Tourist Guide.
Anyhow we headed to lunch where they icecreams sundaes that are kind of like designer desserts they seem to be a common trait in Austria so far along with Ghoulash which is pretty good to. These icecreams however even have special menus where they are all layed out tempting you, very difficult to resist. Enough about icecreams, the coffee is really good to and by the way the Vienna Coffee is nothing special here it is just like a cappucino. Clearly it was created by someone who thought Vienna Coffee would be a catchy name.
So our day in the outskirts of Vienna was lovely and pretty interesting eventhough there was no tourist office but nevermind.
Seeyou later and will update you all soon
