Hey everyone! we are safe in Japan so no worries! spent the first two days in Tokyo which is very big, bright and crowded. everyone is very polite and has a kind of personal space bubble around them because they never ever bump into each other. we have eaten sushi and bento boxes and all the food is delicious. Then on to Nikko for two days (Nikko is about 2 hours further north) for the spring festival where 1000 people dress in 100 costumes and march from the temple in Nikko national park. Stayed in traditional Japanese hostels which were really great. this morning we had this amazing breakfast which was about 6 little dishes, miso soup and a bowl of rice, too much to eat and only about 3 pounds! Today we travelled to Kyoto and it is raining but hopefully tomorrow there will be good weather to see more temples and shrines.

cant write much more as i keep accidently changing the text to japanese and its getting very tiring...silly computers!
