Hi everyone,
Hope you are all ok? its 7pm and ive just a a nap we got from the jungle about 5.30pm, since i last blogged we went to oyur thai cooking class we did 4 courses chicken and coconut soup chicken with cashews which is my fave and much better than ming dynasty! ha then a red tahi curry with 1 chilli as im a wimp and also spring rolls got a certificate and a recipe book so will try when i get home, after cooking we went to muay thai boxing match which was weird, first young boys about 10 then women the a few blokes fights and at thend 6 boxers got in the ring at once and were all blindfolded and starting kicking the s*** out of eachother, weird! then back to hostel for early night o pack for the jungle!
We were picked up from our hostel about 9.30am, and were taken to a butterfly and orchid farm which was rubbish but i think they just do it to fill the day and from there we went to a local market which was intresting, then we were taken to our trek we were given fried rice wrapped in bananna leaf which we just ate on the road and then we were off abou10=12 of us german lads us 5 english girls 2 sweedish people 2 french and our new best mate the tour guide Didi, we opted ofr the short cut 2 hours instead of 4 and it was a boiling hot day and i will be honest i thought i was gonna die on the uphill bits Didi gave us ass giant leaves for fans aand showed us some good stuff in the jungle, we arrived in the elephant camp which was the most beautiful place ive been so far and we then all showed a dirty mud filled pond which we could swim in to cool down it lokked gross but there wasnt really much option so we had a dip!
Then we were told that it was out turn on the elephant so i shared with Sarah and omg i have never been so scared in all off my life (pics to follow when i csn)it was amazing but you are just soo high up so were clinging on for dear life but well worth it, we were then joined by another trekking group who had taken the long route and werent pleasedto hear that there was a short cut we had dinner under the wooden hut rice chicken and veg and then just chilled listened to some music and drank some chang til about 11pm and then we had to go up to our 'bed' which was up even further stairs and we needed a torch to get there we had mossie nets and the smallest pillow ive ever seen but it was better than i expected!
we woke up this mornng put our bikinis on and jumped inthe dirty pond to wash the elephants the baby one was so cute rolling around, Sophie and Kerry jumped on one to wash it and it decided to get up and walk off there was alot of screaming going on!
We then only had a 5 min walk to the village where we were picked up in a truck and drove to the place to do white water rafting and bamboo rafting but a tourist had died yesterday as rapids were too strong and we couldnt which was a bit gutting, so we drove to waterfall which was so so beautiful and we slided into the whirlpool from crazy slides we sat by the waterfall eating pad thai for lunch in the sun and came back here, we had a snack then nap time!
We are travelling to laos tomorrow at 6pm for 18 hrs on a bus which could be intresting!
speak soon lymy
