I think the plane back was around 12 & a half hours, of which I slept almost the entire time! So glad I finally got some quality rest, I was awake for dinner and breakfast though so I got some grub and would go right back to sleep again.
We got into JFK and first had to go through immigration and passport control, apparently I slept through them giving out our entrance forms so when I got to the counter the lady there gave me a form and sent me to the back of the line! Darn! Only took me a few minutes to fill out and get back to her, it was easy though, she asked me why I had gone there and sent me on my way. Then we picked up our packs and took them back to the connecting flights conveyor belt. Afterwards we headed to customs, which I was nervous about having never gone through customs before and always hearing such horror stories, but we had no issues and went right through.
Then made our way through another security check-point and on to our gate with an hour to spare! I got coffee at Burger King and then found an outlet to plug my phone into and send some messages out as well as call some people so everyone would know we were alive, well and in the states! Leaving JFK I had an awesome view of New York with my window seat, the rows were pretty spread out too which was nice. I want to visit New York someday!
Soon we'll be in Minneapolis (first time at this airport) and then Albuquerque. Yay for home and my nice comfy bed! I had planned on going to Zozobra but I've not made up my mind yet. I'd say the only thing that sucked about this trip was Lisa unfortunately being sick and in a bad mood for a lot of it. I think towards the end of the trip we were both really ready to get back home and got a little snappy with each other, but that is to be expected I suppose.
My favorite part was Dahab, I loved the city, beach, boardwalk, all of it! I would definitely visit there again! It was a beautiful place and we stayed in Assilah so you still get a more local feel. Seeing all the sights, temples, museums, pyramids, tombs etc was amazing and for the most part the people were all nice and very helpful. The language barrier wasn't that bad, and our hosts were great andaccommodatingting! I had a wonderful first International experience, the travel bug has hit me hard and I definitely can't wait to see experienceiece more of what this world has to offer!
