Hi everyone, well  I did the trekkin thing camera battery went dead on me and no bloody shops!!! but all the views are in my head it was well worth gettin up for, think we only got to 1500 ft but it seems a long way to fall down! When i got back i was so knackered legs were aching but was worth it .

Anyway I finally made it to calcutta,after a 4hr delay at Kathmandu airport, I shouldn't moan really coz there were people there who had been waitin 37hrs for their flight!!

Arrived at 7.30 indian time and got a taxi to the YWCA, got told its the only place that accepts tourists after dark !!!!!! I know why!!!! It is a dump, the bed or sheets wern't fit to sleep on, the room was filthy the bathroom was even worse, it looked like it came from the 18th century and hadn't been cleaned since it had been installed! no fan or air con, went out for something to eat and got locked out, {I was back late, 10.40,Went to a lovely restr'nt?and had the best curry yet! and they sold Bacardi Breezers!!!! Yeah :-) } so had to wake up the porter who wasn't happy with me :-) anyway in the mornin I went for "breakfast" I walked into what was supposed to be the dining room in which was a mankie table and followed another girl into what was supposed to be the kitchen, some of the stalls out in the streets are cleaner! so decided against fod and thought i'd be safe with coffee which they don't have because caffine is a drug!!! and all the signs around the place say: NO SMOKING,DRINKING OR DRUGS OF ANY KIND, WE ARE WATCHING YOU! so with that i packed and left :-)

Then had to set about findin somethin else!!! which took me all mornin, but got somewhere thats ok, and clean so im ok now.

Went to The Victoria Memorial and museum yesterday which is a lovely building walked around the gardens after, which was nice and peaceful. Found a bar last night called Someplace Else, and yes they sold breezers :-) and they had a live band on that were really good, did cover versions of Floyd, Dire straits and all kinds of other music, finally went?back 2 hotel?at 11.30 that is the lastest I've been out since I left UK!!!!

Was supposed to go to the planetarium and St Pauls Cathedral (not the London one!) today but it has been pouring down all day I ventured out to do this and was wading over ankle deep in water and god knows what else!!!!!!!!!! I'm gona paddle back then get in the shower coz I don't know what i have stood in :-(

Im supposed to be going to Chennai (madras) on sat but have changed it and Im now going straight to Goa, have had enough of the cities, gonna try the beach and see if it smells any sweeter or cleaner!!! :-) love and miss u all and Em & Karl?hope you have a great hol.
