SO we've finally left Sydney and our Bondi bubble. Travelled overnight on the Premier bus service on Monday after spending the day like hobos on the park by Central station, Sydney. Arrived in Byron early Tuesday and spent the day lazing on the beach before getting access to our room, getting showered and getting back on it. Staying at Aquarius backpackers as seemed to be the cheapest in town and offers a free meal. Place is pretty cool actually, got a little pool, a few things to do, a bar and a nice big kitchen. Rooms however aren't often locked and don't have lockers so have been carting our valubles everywhere. Andy and Carlos, came up just after us so have seen them about a bit. Yesterday we made the most of the showers and headed to Nimbin .. stopping first at a bottle shop to get supplies then heading to the one road town itself. Lots of people on the streets offering all sorts of goodies. We thought we had to sample the cookies while we were there but took it pretty easy and just got a big giggly in the afternoon and then back at the hostel that night. After Nimbin we stopped for a bbq at a pub and then went to a little swimming hole before heading home. Today was a pretty lazy start and then this afternoon we went sea kayaking. I was a little bit nervous to say the least given all my past near drowning experiences and the waves out here but I'm pleased to say we made it and only have sore muscles as a result. Me and Na shared a boat and our first attempt at getting through the waves and out to sea wasn't great, we did a massive horseshoe and ended up back on shore. The next was much better and we headed out to spot a few dolphins. On the way back in we tried to surf the waves but fell out once or twice before finally losing our boat, my paddle and most of my bikini! ALl washed uop back on shore safe and sound! Tomorrow we plan a lazy day on the beach and then on to Surfers on Saturday for theme park fun for Jess's bday and a catch up with people from Bondi!! Off we go again!
