Hi all
Well Since I last wrote I was about to go apple picking, well that never happened! Instead I went straight to a work as a physio. I have just finished my third week working at a hospital in a place called Port Augusta, and I love it. I am living in hospital accommodation with another girl who is lovely and works as a podiatrist here. Its only a small place but it has a few good pubs (obviously I have tested these venues well, much to by new collegues amuzement last week) and somewhere to dance (I wont call it a club as that would be too generous!).
I cover inpatients, outpatients, and go on outreach to a couple of places out in the bush. I was on an out reach clinic this week in a place called leigh creak and coz its so far away by car we flew! You get to travel on a 8 seater plane which is one of the flying doctor planes, it was brill and the views were amazing. The pic that accompanies this blog is from a place called the flinders range, which is near here so think ill be visiting there for a weekend once I get some cash together from this job. The team here are lovely and lots of young juniors so good social life too.
It does feel a bit strange to have unpacked my backback and know that I will be sleeping in the same bed for the next 6 months, but im getting use to it. After I finsh here I intend to see as much of Oz as I can before been kicked out of the country and then maybe New Zealand for Christmas and New Year, and from there who knows?! I think a little birdy from England is going to come and travel with me as of August and I really hope she comes, there be double the fun and defo double the trouble!
Now lots of people have been asking me about the boys in Oz, and quite frankly Im dissapointed. As I am now single I quite liked the idea of a surfer type, but it dosent look like its going to be happening, esp not with the boys from Port Augusta that I have seen so far! According to the locals all the good ones are taken, and the only other eligiables are the Police ( I think you all know what my response to that would be!) and teachers that get drafted to the outback, but if you hang around schools for too long people think your a werido and call the police, and them im stuck talking to the coppers again! You see my predickament! Despite this I will be heading off to the pub this evening, to enjoy a girly nigt out.
Hope your all keeping well
Hugs and Kisses
Jen
