Today, Sunday, we reached Melaka. It was easy enough to find our hostel, once we had found a taxi. Taxi's are really cheeky here, charging over the odds for a journey, so being the cunning girls we are we walk away only for the men to call after us ok ok!! Well its Wednesday and we are now in 'Kuala Lumpur'. It only took us 4hours to get here from 'Tanah Rata', all be it by some very scarey bendy high roads!!!!! We reached 'Tanah Rata' at lunchtime on Monday. The bus trip took 5hours. 'Tanah Rata' is right in the centre of the 'Cameron Highlands'. As it is in the Highlands is is quite cold here, you need a jumper for the evenings and a blanket at night. Due to these conditions this is why 'Tanah Rata' is famous for tea growing. Well after an 15h boat and bus combo journey we have now reached Malaysia. We spent the night on the boat from Ko Phan Nan to Surat Thani in Thailand, it was comfortable, one deck with a 100 matresses in a row. We than took a mimibus at 6am from Surat Thani to Penang getting in at 2pm. The border crossing was a bit wierd, but we got our passport stamped which was the main thing!!
