COCKTAILS AT SUNSET
DAY 55: Mui Ne
Our bus picked us up at about 8am in Nha Trang for the five hour journey to Mui Ne, Vietnam's other, quieter, main beach resort. We were really hoping for some sun now.
The journey was fairly boring but it did give us an opportunity to see rural Vietnam and some fairly remote places. It's amazing how self-sufficient people can be in their own communities.
When we finally arrived at Mui Ne we checked in to a lovely hotel across the road from the drop-off point; Mui Ne Resort. It's a very clean and tidy place with a nice pool and it's right on a small beach.
We checked in and headed out for some lunch at Pogo, which is a 'lively but rustic beach bar' (to quote Lonely Planet). Well, I reckon it gets lively sometimes, but today it was just a rustic beach bar and we were the only ones there. We had a few cocktails, chilled out and watched the sun go down.
In the evening we opted to stay local and ate at a restaurant across the road called La Pattiolle. A really nice French couple had taken it on when they were out here visiting just six months ago, and are doing a really good job. The food is excellent, as is the service, and it has a really chilled vibe. Naturally, a few more drinks followed before heading back. Getting a bit concerned now that most nights have involved alcohol since arriving in 'Nam.
