Melbourne war eine super Abwechslung von dem ganzen stressigen Urlaubsvorbereitungen. :-) Zusammen mit Erika und Mateo haben wir eine Tour auf die Great Ocean Road gemacht ueber 2 1/2 Tage. Das war absolut klasse. Wer haette gedacht, dass wir nach Melbourne fahren zum Zelten....:-) Wir haben fast gar nichts eingekauft Klamottenmaessig.
Die Great Ocean Road geht von Melbourne nach Adelaide. Wir sind nicht bis nach Adelaide gefahren, nur bis zu den 12 Apostels. Die Strasse fuehrt direkt am Ozean entlang und ist eine sehr kurvenreiche Strasse. Mir ist da gleich mal schlecht geworden - bin nur noch kerzengerade Strassen gewoehnt. :) Wir haben in Lorne gezeltet, uns am Apollo Bay gesonnt, uns die 12 Apostels angeschaut und Bells Beach in Torquay (bekannt vom Film 'Gefaehrlich Brandung'). Wir hatten Glueck mit dem Wetter - schoen sonnig und heiss.

Beim Zelten haben wir zum ersten Mal Koalas in der Wildnis gesehen und gehoert. Die sind total niedlich aber grunzen wie Wildschweine und haben mir nachts im Zelt einen ganz schoenen Schreck gegeben. Frueh kamen die Enten und haben Gras direkt neben dem Zelt gefressen. Hab nie gedacht, dass die soviel rumgackern bei fressen. Mit lang schlafen war da nicht viel. :-)
Wir haben am letzten Tag eine Wanderung zum Phantom Wasserfall gemacht - erste Vorahnung von dem, was in Sued Amerika bestimmt viel extremer werden wird. Es war sehr schwuel und es ging steil bergauf.

Jetzt haben wir noch 6 Tage bis zum Abflug - der Countdown laeuft. Ich freue mich schon auf Deutschland!!

Melbourne was a great change from all that stressful going-away preparation. We went down the Great Ocean Drive with Erika and Matteo for 2 1/2 days which was fantastic. Who thought we would go to Melbourne camping.... :-) We hardly did any shopping.
The Great Ocean Road goes from Melbourne to Adelaide. We only drove as far as the 12 Apostels. As the road winds along the coast I got sick fairly quickly. With all the dead-straight roads in Australia I must just not be used to windy roads anymore. :-)
We camped in Lorne, went sunbaking at Apollo Bay, looked at the 12 Apostels and visited Bells Beach in Torquay (famous from the movie 'Break Point'). We were very lucky with the weather - nice, sunny and hot.

While camping we saw and heard Koalas for the first time. They are so cute but sound like wild pigs... That did scare me at night while trying to sleep in the tent. In the morning the ducks would start to eat gras right next to our tent. I never realised how much noise they make while eating. There went our sleep-in.
On our last day we hiked to the 'Phantom Falls' - that gave us a first impression of what is to come in South America. It was fairly humid and was a steep hike.

We have only 6 days left - the count down continious. I am looking forward to Germany!!!
