We just cannot believe that today is our last day on our mammoth trip. We are in a state of shock to be honest- the time seems to have flown by so fast but similarly we feel that the last 12 months have been the most exciting and busiest of our lives.
So we better go out and enjoy it- we will visit Elephanta island, then the famous huge washing ghat and then finish off with a couple of hours by the pool- sounds great doesn't it! And the best thing is that we had booked the cheapest room on Expedia available at the famous Taj hotel in Colaba- a treat for our last two nights and surprisingly cheap on the site. When we got here and got chatting to the woman (and dropped in a bit of Hindi) she upgraded us 3 times over and we know have a deluxe room with a balcony overlooking the sea and India gate!
Goodness we will miss travelling- waking up in the morning and being free to explore, to learn, to meet new people and see amazing things. But most of all I think now we will miss India. The water buffallo by the side of the road and tiny calves wandering down it. The ah chai chai chai chai of the tea seller, the dosas, the hilarious signs and idiosyncracies of the most diverse nation on earth and above all the people. Oh the people- you just cannot explain it to anyone who hasn't been here. The friendliest rudest people on earth, who take you into their hearts and want to know the most personal things about you when you are buying a bottle of water from them.
I will write a final blog when we are back but Namaste from India- if you haven't been here book your trip today- it is one of our favourite places on Earth...

I hope you'll consider it too someday and tell it's your fave place on earth also. :) Shall be waiting for more updates on the next coming days. Thanks for a wonderful trip!
