Thought we would write a little blog even though there is nothing much to report to let you know we're still alive! The reason there's not much to report is because it's been rainy and this means lots of mooching. Yesterday we walked for miles around town and checked out the jam packed local Market where everyone stared at us a lot. It was good though- Habainas flip flops are £3 although I can't wear any at the moment as my feet are rubbed raw from walking so far in them! We also went to see the cathedral- look at the photos it looks quite ugly and is a strange concrete triangle shape but as soon as you walk in you see exactly why it has been designed like that. The 4 stained glass windows rise up from floor to ceiling. Today we spent the day with Marcio chilling and chatting in a cafe watching the world go by and rain pour down. We ordered a file mignon BBQ for £20 that was huge- a bbq plate is brought to the table with heat underneath and you spend the afternoon eating it. It was unbelievable at least 8 prime tender steaks, chargrilled onions and peppers, chorizo and yummy rice, chips and ground manioc flower to go with it. As you can imagine it was all we needed to eat today! It's valentines day here tomorrow so lucky charles gets to celebrate it with me twice in one year- I hope he's got me a card! Only joking we're writing this together- we feel so lucky to be doing this and so relaxed- we'd definately recommend it to all you at your desks! Not sure what the plan is for the next couple of days- will see how the weather pans out- we're hoping it'll brighten up so we can go to an island off the coast but Marcio has promised us waterfalls too....
