So, The Ghan!
We're probably not the youngest people on here, but it feels like it! Sal reckons it's like a retirement home on wheels!
The routine consists of looking out of windows for kangaroo's and emu's, then going to the dining car for another meal! We sussed out pretty early how to turn the piped music off, we didn't really want '60s MOR hits for 24 hours solid!
The scenery has changed from farmland just outside Adelaide, to bush, and now to outback. The soil is very red now!
Had a good chat to various people on the train, some Brits, and quite a few Aussies, all very envious of our tour!
The compartment is very snug, but has everything we need, and the attendants came while we had dinner last night and set the bunks for sleeping. I had the top bunk, which meant climbing a little ladder while the train was wobbling around, but no-one got hurt!
We slept on and off, but the bunks were shaking continuously, I've had better nights!
We're due in Alice at 2pm-ish, and it's forecast to be very hot, the pool is calling!
