A very early start for Sunrise at The Rock. We pre-ordered a boxed breakfast (a big rip-off!) and collected it in reception at 0455hrs! A loopy posh English women spotted our box, 'what's in that box' she barked, 'breakfast' we replied, 'where's mine? Why haven't I got one?' she wanted to know, b*****ed if I know, I said (I didn't say that, I just thought it), I think she thought we were her 'staff' and should sort it out, now! Do one, yer daft old bat!
The sunrise was a bit crap, but the rock was still awesome, and after sunrise we were taken over to the kajagoogoo mountains (that's what it sounded like, anyway), and walked through the Wapa Gorge ( Wapa is abbo for 'millions of fricken flies', or should be!).
Back to the dump, er, hotel, to relax and prepare for the 'Sounds of Silence' dinner. Really looking forward to this, dinner out in the desert, under the stars, should be great.....oh, it's cancelled, crap. Me, Sal, and billions of bugs left v disappointed!
The site was too muddy, it seems, so we took up the option of having the same meal, but indoors, at the hotel next door. Very nice it was too, just disappointing not to see the desert night-sky, never mind, it was a bug-free experience, at least!

barrie If all else fails, you can always have lamb & banana ! is it hot out there cos were still expecting snow. Carry on exploring & enjoying yourselves
Ant kajagoogoo !!!! I thought that was an English band! 1983? I'm shy or too shy or something I recall.. nothing to do with this but better than memories of millions of flies lol!
Jeff & Sal Yes! It was 'Too Shy', a stone-cold 80s classic, Kajagoogoo were the ultimate one-hit-wonders! Hi Barrie, don't know if you got snow or not, we're in Northern 'Nam now, and it's quite cool, but it'll warm up as we travel south, we're not expecting snow!
