Greetings -

I arrived in Kuala Lumpur (known as KL) late last night. I have been exploring the city today and have already been lost 2 times. It is quite hot (95) but enjoying myself. Sydney proved to be quite nice and I met some good people there. I expect that I will go back there at some point in the near future (next january???).

KL is quite different from the places that I have traveled before arriving here. There are a high number of Muslims here and it certainly changes the way you can look at the world. I certainly "stick out" more than I did in Sydney. The local people here are quite friendly.

I am staying at the Renassiance Hotel and it is spectacular. During my first few hours of exploring i have found KL to be quite cheap (.33 for bottled water). I will go to an temple tomorrow (apparently there are many monkeys there as you journey up the 260 steps).

I will file another update before I leave KL on MOnday.
