Hi guys
After a request of a friend to continue the blog I don't want to let you wait.
Where shall I start after a five month break? Last time when I wrote the blog I left Bollon and promised myself to never go back and work in this f***ing place. Here I wanna quote Justin bieber: never say never ;)
I was happy to travel and spend my money :)
So I started finally after 3 month of work my travel at the east coast from brisbane to Melbourne. After this trip I wanted to stay in Sydney or Melbourne and find a job in my profession.
I was tired and not inspired on the whole trip and I was glad that I had Tanja from Germany as my travel partner. She did already some research in saving money by doing couch surfing and finding cool places. So for me it meant just following her and do nothing:)
Anyway after one week I spent already $1500. For what you ask. Good question. For skydivinging, flying with a helicopter, food, Accommodation, riding a speed boat, taking surf lessons and spending money on some gear. In the end of my trip I spent about $3000 in only one month. And the later the trip the less i spent because you do the most expensive things right at the start of your trip. That's what I thought.:) and thats the reason why I went back to toms place^^
If you think that's a lot of money in that short time then you don't know two pommies I met. They spent $6000 in 2 month and most of it in booze because they partied or got drunk everyday^^ So if you wanna get drunk don't do it in Australia where a bottle of vodka cost $40. But there are cheap alternatives for students and backpacker like goon. Thats Cheap wine in a 2L pack for $10 or $20.
From Brisbane i traveled via gold coast (surfers paradise), Byron bay and yamba to Sydney.
In every city i had a good time and especially in Brisbane, Byron bay and yamba were very nice because of the people I met there. Sydney is a great city with all the attraction points. Especially the habour bridge and the opera house at night. Awesome. It would go beyond our scope and this blog if I tell you every story on this small journey. So I leave it to a time when we meet each other. :)
In the end I hired a relocated car in Sydney to Melbourne and drove over the blue mountains to cowra as a small road trip. A small town which had a POW camp in ww2 and is famous because of the 1500 Japanese soldiers who escaped out of their prison. I read about this city in bill Bryson's book down under and he told about this hologram of a town girl. She's tiny like tinkerbell without wings but she walks behind and in front of bottles, books and frames from that time and tells her and the story about the escaped soldiers. It's very impressive to see something like that in the real world and not only in the tv. I posted in fb a footage of it.
In the end I drove 5h to cowra got a call from Tom that he really needs me in two days and asked me if I can come earlier because he's leaving overseas. I packed my stuff although I wanted to see more in that town and drove another 4h till I didn't have any fuel left, slept in the back of the car and arrived Melbourne the next morning. I took the plane and worked since then for tom again.
In the next few days I'll tell you more about this period of my life in mt gambier and working again in qld.
Cheers for reading.
Jay
