Hey my lovely readers
Sorry for my late blog but in the last couple of weeks I did almost the same stuff every day. So I thought it's not worth to write about that but I experienced some other stuff.
But at the moment I'm on my way to the outback right in Queensland. Im staying in bollon on a farm near of st. George. No phone reception, 3h from the next town, around the house is nothing only paddocks and 20000 sheep which we have to drench :( sounds great, right? ^^ it comes better. At this place one of the most dangerous snake is living here. The brown snake but I hope they have a disfunction of their hibernating because it's f***ing get hot.^^ But don't worry guys. The helicopter needs only 2h to the farm. Sounds still great right? ^^
Two weeks ago I had the possibility to shoot with a rifle on a target.(see pics) That was a great experience. You have to be calm and shoot when you breath out. I shot with two different guns. It s easy with a scope to aim on the target and hit it. And I was pretty good with it. But there is also one with two circles in a row and you have to look through both before you shoot. It was fun although it was really freezing on this day.
When Tom and I had to mark the sheep last time, it was bloody and a little bit surprising.
First marking means to put strong rubber rings around the tails AND balls.
So have you ever thought or known that sheep have tails? yeah their tails are either long and thin or short and thick like beaver tails. There are many tails varieties and it's common to take those off because the tail gains fat and you can't sell any tail on the market.
When I thought the balls of a calf is big then you haven't ever seen sheep balls. Those are huuuge. Like small coconuts. Unbelievable. and at one or two cases we had to chop the balls off. I expected that the sheep would scream or kick like the calf but when we cut those off the sheep didn't react at all. without turning the eyelash. (and thx guys for the pocket knife. It helped a lot ;))
But that wasn't the bloody part of the work. Some of the sheep had big horns and we needed to take those off too. (So unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of the big horn scissors we used but it will follow.)Anyway at the first time when we cut them off I didn't expected much. I sat on the sheep, Tom put the the scissors around the horn, the sheep was afraid of us and had a short breath (of course because I sat on him) and then we cut the horns off. Suddenly a small blood fountain was spouting out of his head and I tried to avoid the blood to not covered with it. I was really proud not to be covered in it but i forgot someone. Unfortunately I hold the head wrong and Tom got a blood stripe through his face and he looked like a butcher from an abattoir. ^^
Because he did it a lot of time he was used to be covered in blood. So he was not really mad at me^^
So then cu after 3 weeks. Bye guys.
