Hey guys!!
Well since last time I wrote I've moved city again!! However before that I spend another few days in Montreal. The Corn on the Cob night was brilliant and it was free. Then we went to the pub crawl in hurricane Irene (more like a very bad tropical storm!) Which was the best fun, suprisingly!
The next day Jen, Anna and I went to the gay village, which was covered in pink!! Even the parking meters were pink. This is where I got a gold hoop for my nose piercing, however it was bigger than my old one, so it was like I got my nose pierced again! Oh and by the way I got my tragus (the middle part of the ear) pierced in Toronto!! A little painful but it looks very snazzy!! Sorry mum and dad!! Remember I LOVE YOU!!
Then we climbed Mont Royal, which was higher and harder than we expected as it had about a million stairs, but we managed it and the view from the top was unreal!! So worth it!! That night a dude from the hostel called Kent had a gig at a little pub. He was playing guiter whilst this girl song acoustic style songs. They were so good, that at the end everyone shouted "encore" and they sang "stand by me!" That was probably my favourite time in Montreal and will be a memorable moment in my journey!!
The next day (and the last day in Monteal) me and the girls did some last minute touristy things, like visiting the Biodome ( a little bigger and better than Tropical World at Roundhay hehe) where we seen loads of different animals such as crocodiles and penguins!! Very cute. Then we headed back to old Monteal where we got Poutine (a very famous dish in Canada, but Monteal does the best) which consists of chips, cheese curd and gravy!! Sounds disgusting but very very tasty!! Then for dessert we managed to track down Beaver tails. I had them in Quebec City but I wanted them again before I left Canada, and also had to get the girls to taste them. They're like these deep fried dough pasty covered with whatever spead you like, so obviously I got maple syrup on mine!!! Yummy!! I wish I could post you all one, thats how amazing they are!!!
After this we said bye to the many new friends we had made and for the first time in a long while, we got an early night, due to the early start in the morning. Jen and Anna left at around 5am and I managed to get up to give them a farewell hug, I miss them already!! Then I was up and out for my bus to Boston, Massachusetts!!
Boston, what can I say?! Not my favouite place at first as it wasn't as friendly as all the other places I had been. And for one whole morning I felt VERY VERY homesick!!! May sound silly that it was only one morning, but it had such a massive impact on my emotions. I went exploring by myself, and whilst looking at a map, lost, I walked straight into a lamppost, at full force!! Yeh funny now I look back at it, but at the time I thought " I hate Boston, I want to go home!!" So I phoned home, which always makes me feel better!!
In the afternoon I had signed up to go on a beer tasting tour at the Harpoon factory. This is where I met Jess, from Australia. Jess made Boston for me! We just partied the whole time, but I also found a friend in a person very much like me. It's hard to describe a friendship that is formed over 5 days. People were suprised when they met us, that we'd only just met each other!! Crazy! Everything we did we managed to get lost, for example, we got on a bus thinking we were going to Cambridge, then when we ended up in the Ghetto, we still were still naive enough to ask the bus driver if we were in Cambridge!!! (We went in the wrong direction, and the bus driver kindly let us stay on the bus and took us the RIGHT way!!)
Harvard was outstanding, I wish I was brainy enough to go there. Also we managed to find a bar that was right on the pitch of a baseball game, as Boston Red Socks and the Yankees played!! BRILLIANT!! Although we still dont know who won the game!!
Leaving Jess was sad, however it means leaving to go to NEW YORK, NEW YORK!!! And you can not believe how excited I am to see Nilam, Ash and Aivs!!! This is going to be an incredible five days!!!! Eeeeeek!!
Until next time folks, see ya!!! x x x x x
