On our way the Hue (which i found out you prenounce Way) we stopped off at marble mountain where they create amazing gigantic marble statues by hand, went to cham museum which i didnt want to go to so didnt pay to get in but acidentially realised that i had somehow snuck in without paying whilst looking for a toilet/ happy house as they call it over here. Also went to China beach saw houses & buildings & billboards totally destroyed by the recent typoon & everyone were out on their roofs fixing up there houses 6 people were killed in the typoon so it was upsetting to see the awful destruction it caused.
In the evening we had a Royal banquit as Hue is the old capital of Vietnam & very much centreed on the royal family. We all dressed up in traditional Vietnamise costume which was fun & the 2 guys on our tour Mr David & Mark were the king & queen. The food was so well presented it was an artform in itself & we had musicians. The royal family here sounds so wrong the emporer has a wife & hundreds of corkubines (young women for tupping) who live in the palace & cannot leave. Its kinda like Hugh Hefna & the playboy mansion. The male servants are called unics (i think) they have to cut off their sherlong to serve the king so the king can be sure they dont do anything naughty. The king had like 140 children. Oh isnt this like a little history lesson all rolled into one fabulous journal entry. Our Vietnam tour group is full of ozzies i love them cant wait to get ova to oz they are so blunt & funny i cant count the number of times i have laughed my drink out of my nose!
Went on a motorbike ride all over Hue viseted the market, how to make Vietnamise hats which were being made by a woman with 1 arm so clever, viseted royal tombs & pegodas & temples. We went to nunery for lunch which was the best meal ive had so far the monks dont eat meat, garlic or onion which are also 3 things i hate but are in everything so i knew i was safe to tuck into everything on the table. Later found out monks cant eat these things cause aparently give you the horn! maybe thats why im single (sorry ma & pa jst kindin'). I was lovin' my motorbike he wore the best aviator shades i think he thought he was topgun he couldnt speck a word of english so i jst sang him the Topgun sound track i knew he'd appriciate it. Ill post a piccy of him on the site for you.
We went on a boat trip down perfume river. Got palm read by some cute old lady. She said that I am going to have 3 children 2 girls who will be like me & a boy. I will have 2 boyfriends one 25 the other 31 one will have known me since i was young & i will marry a wealthy man (good job) when im 27 but will have my children before im mariried so my parents will be mad with me. So if ive gotta get in 2 boyf's, 3 children & be married in the nxt 4 yrs looks like i best get crackin'!
We went to an orphanage which was really heart warming there are about 240 children there ranging from babies to 23 the nuns care for the children & it is also a school, colledge & university. There are 10 disabled children there also. All the children were so happy & lovely it was sad to here of their pasts but good to see them so happy dispite this. The nxt day we requested to go back to the orphanage they need 200kg a day to feed the children we each brought 50kg rice (altogether enough for 2 1/2 days) & some books & pens the motor bike drivers took us for free which was lovely of them & the shop gave us extra goodies to take for buying so much there. The children & nuns were so appreciative & we spent the morning with the children which was so much more satisfying than any activity we could have done no matter how good. Ha was so happy too apparently we are the 1st tour group to request to go back & do this which i am really surprised about. So anyone going on a tour please request to do stuff like this!
